Alex Paez
Associate
Alex J. Paez joined HPM&B as an associate in 2021. At HPM&B, Alex represents the interest of hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in medical malpractice actions. He also handles the defense of negligence matters involving motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip and falls, elevator accidents, and related commercial, general, and premises liability matters.
Alex is involved in all aspects of pre-trial litigation and trial preparation, with a particular focus in case development, legal and medical research, fact investigation, motion support, and suit evaluation.
Prior to joining HPM&B, Alex served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Law Department in the Manhattan Borough Unit. There, he defended the City of New York, its agencies, and employees in complex, high-exposure tort actions. In 2020, Alex was a Division Chief Award recipient.
While studying at Howard University School of Law, Alex was appointed Captain of the Huver I. Brown Trial Advocacy Moot Court Team during his third year. He was named a Stevens Fellow by the John Paul Stevens Foundation while serving as a Law Clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of the District of Columbia.
