Hillary C. Agins

Ms. Agins is an accomplished litigation attorney with more than two decades of experience defending physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice matters. She has developed a particular focus on representing ophthalmologists in cases involving eye injuries, ophthalmic care, and ocular health. Her specialized experience has made her a go-to defense attorney for eye-care providers facing malpractice claims. She has prepared numerous complex cases for trial and secured defense verdicts and dismissals for her clients.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Agins has handled all aspects of civil litigation defense, with a particular emphasis on medical malpractice. She has drafted and argued numerous motions for summary judgment and appeals, successfully obtaining dismissals on behalf of her clients.

Early in her career, Ms. Agins interned with the Honorable Arthur D. Spatt, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York, where she researched substantive legal issues and drafted judicial opinions. She later served as a Staff Attorney for the Nassau County Legal Aid Society, representing indigent defendants in all phases of criminal proceedings, from inception through trial.

A former ski instructor, Ms. Agins also has experience defending medical negligence and premises liability claims involving ski areas and resorts.

In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, traveling, and theater. She also serves as Vice President of her co-op building in Manhattan, New York.
