Karen Schmidt joined HPM&B as an associate in 2009.  Ms. Schmidt represents hospitals and medical professionals throughout New York state in all phases of litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Schmidt worked as a Deputy County Attorney for the Office of the Nassau County Attorney where she represented Nassau County, its agencies and employees in various federal and state court actions and special proceedings alleging, inter alia, employment discrimination, civil rights violations and housing discrimination.

Ms. Schmidt has tried numerous cases in Federal court from jury selection to verdict.

Ms. Schmidt is a 2008 recipient of the “Rookie of the Year” Award from the Nassau County Attorney’s Office.
