Karen T. Grottalio joined the firm in 1998 and became a partner in 2002. Ms. Grottalio concentrates her practice in the representation of healthcare practitioners and major medical centers in medical liability litigation.
In addition to defending clients at trial, and in all phases of pre-trial proceedings in both state and federal court, Ms. Grottalio counsels clients on risk management issues.
Ms. Grottalio is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Westchester County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Ms. Grottalio is a member of the Faculty Association of the Bar of the City of New York and has lectured on "Taking and Defending Depositions".
Ms. Grottalio was recently appointed to the Gender Equity Task Force by the New York State Bar Association. The task force committee collects data and produces reports with observations and recommendations regarding gender equity in the legal profession. The committee is charged with examining and seeking action on gender concerns affecting women in society and in the profession. The project is intended to assist NYSBA in addressing the needs and interest of its membership.
